3 different versions of Windows OS
• Windows 7 home premium
• Windows 7 professional
• Windows 7 ultimate
I have selected Windows 7 home premium out of all these great selection for the version of Windows OS that I would use. It has improved desktop navigation, you can access the documents you use the most of programs from start menu, which is neat cause most of the time I use the same things probably 80 percent of the time. Also the Internet Explorer 8 is nice, because it is very safe and since I don’t want to purchase a virus protection, so this acts as some type or form of it. The application that peeks my interest is where you can watch t.v from the computer almost like a tee boo, which later on once I learn how to use can be nice , and maybe eliminate a cable bill . The last feature which I would not use that much is where you can print from your computer wireless which is a neat feature, but I only have one computer and it is located on my desk right by my computer, but If I had more than one or a family one day this would be a nice convent way of printing cause I hate all the cords hooked up to everything.
The other choices meet my needs, but just have more involved with them that I don’t desire at this point in my life. They will be a necessity one day when I actually get my degree an d need more advanced features, but I don’t see why to waste the money right now as they have the features I need from Windows 7 home premium , but more programs I would never use.
One OS system that could be installed on any new pc , would be Windows vista home premium. As now days most systems have all the system requirements needed for the software. This system is a great Windows OS as it has everything you need, and as Microsoft discontinued the Windows XP, I believe this will be the next most used OS. It has great graphics, also which is a nice plus, easy desktop navigation, easy to run a lot of applications with ease at the same time.

software for free
Mcafee AntiVirus – website for all the information
http://home.mcafee.com/store/freeservices.aspx
Avast AntiVirus – website for all the information
http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download
My choice out of the AntiVirus protections I have listed above would be Mcafee AntiVirus. First off it is free which is a big plus, and meets my budget. Second I do not use the computer or internet a lot as far as downloading and surfing the web. It has all the tools that I would need to access, such as virus scan update, virus removal tools and so on in order to be virus free , also it is rated one of the highest as far as free software, and as I have used it also in the past and has worked perfect for me.
All other choices I posted do meet my needs as far as safety and protection, most have a very high customer and review rating tagged with them. All have an excellent virus update form.

"The Good, the Bad & the Ugly"
My research topic is Abortion
The good sources
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/abortion.html
1. It does have a .gov URL which to me means that it is pretty reliable source of information coming from the government.
2. It does indicate who put together all the articles and the resources on the page. Also the date in which it was updated was only a month old which is not to outdated. The organizations that wrote the articles seem reputable as they are from the u.s government departments in that specified topic of issue.
3. It gives multiple links of information discussing all sides of the issue. All the resources are very accurate, and have been through an extensive review. Most of the documents do have footnotes and follow up links which are accurate.
4. When you search it in alexa.com it shows up that the traffic for the world is 450, and the u.s is 262. It does have great reviews, and also has a 5 star rating. The site linking is not a lot only 11,849. Many of the reviews are great about the information given as it is accurate, and not very opionated at all.
5. My final thoughts for this article/website are that it is a great website. It was put on the web to educate people that were looking for honest and accurate information on the subject. I trust the information as it was edited and put together by the government resources, as it is very reliable. You don’t have to guess is this true or opionated in a way shape or form.
The bad sources
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion
1. It does have an .org URL which usually means it is a nonprofit organizations, but not all the time, which means it is not totally reliable information.
2. At the bottom of the page it does shows the organization that wrote the article or definition. Also the date in which the subject of the content was updated is very recent. Also it seems as though the organization that wrote the article seems to have some information in the field as that is what their organization is all about.
3. All the sources are documented with footnotes, and links. Most of the information is from other completed sources though. It does give external links, and they are discussing both sides of the issue.
4. When you research the URL it shows in top ten traffic rating in the world and the u.s. It also shows the corporation, and the start date of the URL. Also the only thing is that it has a lot of links involved with it nearly 450,000. But as far as reviews many of them say it is a good source of information, but you should follow up with your own research afterwards.
5. All in all this is a good site for first finding out information. It was mainly put on the net for information, facts and that kind of information. I just don’t find it a hindered percent reliable as you are allowed to post information yourself, and as it does not have an editor author for the website.

Wikipedia: Fact or Fiction? (part 2)
How should Wikipedia be used within an academic setting? (Should or should you not use Wikipedia for research in your classes?)
I don't think we should ban the use of Wikipedia for research in the classroom. First off Wikipedia should be a stepping stone not a be all and end all source of information. Just as we use an encyclopedia as a stepping stone to further research a lot. So, to totally ban it, I think, would be a huge mistake. But instead to educate students how to use the information to thier benift, by teaching critical thinking skills.
Is Wikipedia a reliable and credible source of information?
I don't believe that Wikipedia is a reliable and credible source of information. Because I believe that if we need information, we should have accurate information. I don’t trust people to edit/add their own knowledge to a defention, because we all have different views on certain things and beliefs in life, which can mis lead alot of information that needs to be the actual defention not just what people think it means to he or she.
After reading over the new resources , i still stand in my same postion. As it states in the last article exactlly what i posted orginally . We should not citing anything learned from Wikipedia as a fact until further research is done by using your own judgement, but it is a valueable resource for starting research.

All the news that's fit to "print" . . .
How many internet users are there in the world?
There are a total of 1,733,993,741 internet users in the world today.
site url:http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm
Who is allowed to publish information via the internet?
A person who wishes to publish information. Accesses the Internet publishing site and registers as a client.
site url:http://www.wipo.int/pctdb/en/wo.jsp?wo=2001080101
My conclusion from my findings is , that it is very easy to be a publisher anybody can apply, and obtain a url site adress. With the total number of users it can be good or bad depends which way you view it. Could mean alot of fraud ,hackers, faulse information. Or could mean alot of vaulable information, also connects the whole world together to advance our economic society to where it's just not buisness in our country anymore.
